Panel of Experts (continued): Jury SCHOTT CERAN® Design Awards 2017 – Part 2

We have already introduced you to the first part of the jury members of the SCHOTT CERAN® Design Awards 2017. Today, we would like to introduce you to other members of the jury, including bloggers, home chefs, designers and entrepreneurs – just the right mix to assess your ideas about tomorrow’s kitchen space. We are delighted to have these industry experts and outstanding personalities involved!

Helen Powell, Design Writer (UK)

In her small studio in rural Warwickshire, the native Welshwoman and her husband ran the blog Design Hunter, which is dedicated to residential design/interiors, architecture, design and lifestyle, and has developed into one of the most successful blogs in its field since its founding in 2009. Helen’s work has been published in numerous publications such as The Sunday Times, Elle Decoration, Domino, The Independent and Good Homes. In 2014 and 2015 she received the ‘Best Luxury Blog’ award at the Amara Interior Blog Awards. The lifestyle blogger always has her ear close to the ground. She knows the latest trends and lets her young, trendy target group share their creative ideas through their social media platforms. Photo © Design Hunter


Robert Cristinetti, Designer und Entrepreneur (Deutschland)

This designer has been working for 15 years at the interfaces between communication, product and space, since 2013 in his own office. He created, for example, brand rooms, exhibitions, control systems and product studies, including for SCHOTT CERAN®. For some of you, he may be an old acquaintance: He took part in the jury for the SCHOTT CERAN® Design Awards in 2016.



Sebastian Conran, Product designer (UK)

Born in London, he studied Industrial Design Engineering at the Central School of Art and Design (London). Subsequently, he worked with the punk band The Clash and designed stage outfits and designs for them as well as posters and record covers. He is the Founder and CEO of the Product design- & development studio Sebastian Conran Associates (SCA) based in West London. This visionary has been a fan of SCHOTT Spezialglas for many years and has already worked with our products and developed ideas for the kitchen and household appliance industry (Moley Kitchen Robot). Conran is the author of numerous books and publications and regularly lectures. His work has received many awards in design & innovation, and many of his designs have been patented. He taught furniture design at the Royal College of Art and is visiting Professor at Bristol Robotics lab . He formed part of the jury at several international design Awards. Photo: © Jannecke Nilsen

SALT & SILVER – Johannes (Jo) Riffelmacher & Thomas (Cozy) Kosikowski, Cookbook Authors, Bloggers, Home Chefs (Germany)

The two Hamburg natives have given up their old jobs in the media industry to achieve their big dream: to go on a journey and search for the best recipes next to the biggest waves in the world. They spent a year traveling in Latin America and other regions. The travel adventures and culinary discoveries of the creative duo resulted in the cookbooks titled “Salt & Silver – Travel, Surf, Cook” and „Salt & Silver – Tacos, Tequila, Tattoos“. After several years as pop-up chefs, food bloggers and caterers, they have opened their own restaurant called “Salt & Silver Zentrale” in Hamburg in June 2017. As chefs, kitchen Chefs and Restaurant owners they are well-versed in all appliances and heating technologies and are always on top of the latest food and kitchen trends.
