Our cooking surface is part and parcel of daily life in kitchens all over the world. It is there when a recipe is tried for the first time, when flavor sensations are created, and when big kitchen parties are celebrated. And this has been going on for decades. Not only did we usher in a new era in cooking with the black cooking surface, but we have steadily improved it. Precisely for this reason we have won another distinction: that of “Brand of the Century 2019”. A prize that makes our hearts swell with pride.
To the German standard
The project “Brands of the Century”, which has been one of the most renowned business awards for 15 years, has been organized and carried out since the beginning of the year by the ZEIT publishing group and the publisher Florian Langenscheidt. It is an encyclopedia and extensive reference work of outstanding German bands. Brands considered role models in their industry and which have set standards in their fields.
A jury consisting of well-known German businesspersons like Dr. Florian Langenscheidt and Jochen Schweizer selects the brands according to a points system. Certain factors are carefully examined. The most crucial ones include the age of the brand, affiliation to a family business, the internationality of the brand, and its presence in German parlance.
Tradition and innovation in German kitchens
