Just right for grilling: zesty homemade spices for grillables

In the last article we explained how to give grillables the final touch and what to look for. If your mouth was already watering while reading and you feel inspired to grill, we have got the perfect recipe for a zesty spice blend. So let’s get started, it looks like the weather’s right for grilling!


2 tbsp. cayenne

2 tbsp. oregano

2 tbsp. sweet paprika

1 tbsp. black pepper corns

1 tbsp. salt

2 tbsp. roast onions

1 tbsp. garlic flakes


Put all ingredients into a mortar and crush into a uniform powder. The aromas are best released when they are ground medium-fine. Keep the spice blend in an airtight, dark glass and use within three months. Goes with fish, meat, tofu and veggies! Tip: adding a bit of milk and olive oil makes a wonderful marinade.
