SCHOTT is committed to complying with applicable data protection laws and to handling your personal information responsibly. This statement explains how we use your information with your consent to provide you with an optimal user experience.

2. Description and scope of data processing

All visitors can use the general websites of SCHOTT anonymously. At some point in time, e.g., when you register for a newsletter or fill out a contact form, you give us your contact details and thus reveal your identity. Additionally, we operate online portals via our SCHOTT ID where access is only possible via personalized log-ins.

We also collect information about you as our contact each time you interact with us. This includes your visits to our websites and online portals, your interactions with our customer service and sales representatives, and any actions you take as part of our marketing campaigns.

In accordance with applicable data protection laws, we use all data described above for the purpose for which it was originally collected, i.e. to process your order or to monitor the success of our marketing campaigns. With your consent, we would like to improve the use of data to maximize your user experience and help our sales consultants interact with you efficiently.

In particular, we would like to use the following: 

a) Online interactions

Our online services provide us with anonymous measurement of web traffic, which allows us to better understand our visitors and continuously improve the web experience and our content. With your consent, we would like to connect this data to you personally in order to tailor your digital user experience.

The data we collect includes information about which web pages you visited, how often and for how long, and what content you interacted with there.

When we conduct marketing efforts, we track their effectiveness through various methods, such as newsletter tracking, tracking clicks on the various ads we place on the web, etc. With your consent, we would like to use this data in conjunction with your contact profile to ensure that you only receive information that is relevant to you and to make our marketing efforts more effective.

The data collected includes information about which emails you receive from us and actually read, which campaigns have aroused your interest in our products and your behavior on third-party platforms associated with the measures.

b) Offline interactions

As our contact, you interact with our sales consultants in a variety of ways - whether soliciting quotes, attending our product presentations, discussing applications for our products and services, and so on. With your consent, we would like to use this data along with other information about you personally to improve our service and optimize our interactions with you.

The data collected includes information about our meetings with you, our correspondence, telephone calls and video conferences.

3. Purpose for data processing

At SCHOTT, we like to know our contacts because it's the only way we can find new ways to provide you with an exceptional experience. We use information about you in a variety of ways. Among other things, to offer you products and services that you have requested, to make your digital user experience the best it can be, and to provide you with the best possible advice.

 

4. Legal basis

The legal basis for the processing of personal data for the personalization of your customer experience is always your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).

5. Duration of storage

As your consent is the basis for our processing of your personal data as described above, we keep the data as long as your consent is valid. To keep only data that is relevant for us, we will delete the respective data however six years after our last interaction with you.

 

6. Recipients or categories of personal data

The recipients of your personal data may be:
Your sales and customer service contacts at SCHOTT
SCHOTT marketing personnel as well as our data analysts
Service providers who process this data only on behalf of SCHOTT

We will not share this information with anybody outside our organization so that this person or entity could use the data for their own purposes.
